Promising is one thing. Betraying is another.

Something at somewhere or someone was staring at me. I have that feeling that I was being watched but I have no idea who. I looked in all directions. Left, right up, down. There is no one to be seen. This place is also strangely empty. Meow. That call was definitely a cat's. Echoing down the empty hallway I looked in the direction where it came from. Sure enough, there was a cat. A cat with black fur and sparkling emerald green eyes; by looking at it, it makes my skin creep. But on the contrary it looked cute too. There was something alluring in that pair of eyes. But looks could be deceiving. I look at it intently. What could a perfectly harmless and innocent cat do to you? As I walked towards cautiously towards it, it also never left its eyes off me. Why those look on your face? It is making me uncomfortable. Wait a minute, that voice. Where did it come from? There were no one else in this hallway except for me and the cat. It definitely was not me. I did not even open my mouth. Could it be? No, impossible. Cats do not talk. What makes you think so? Again that voice. Stammering I thought for a moment whether have I actually lost my sanity in talking to a cat, 'Can...you actually...TALK?'

Yes and perhaps no. I do not actually talk like you humans but I talk through telepathy. Eerie yet somehow incredible. Not really. Being trapped in a cat's body for so long is not as incredible as it seems. Showing me its best way in expressing a frown, to me, it looked more like it was laughing, as you know cat's faces have fewer muscles then we have. Hey! I was once a human to. You can actually hear my thoughts? Yes. How did u turn into a cat? Witchcraft? Sorcery? Or am I just plain hallucinating? No you are not. This is real. I am real. We are in a reality world. I need your help in breaking this spell. Can you do it? Will you help? Why me? Maybe fate has decreed that you will help me. Now then, will you be so kind as to follow me. Following it down the hallway I pushed open a door that I think was never there and let the cat through. I was surprised that the door actually led to a main street. As there were no cars I dashed across it alongside the cat.

All of a sudden, I was banged by an incoming van. Where did it come from? There were no cars on the street! Due to the impact, I felt my bones breaking one by one from my right-side and was flung into mid-air. Landing sharply on the concrete floor, I felt weightless. I winced as I felt excruciating pain settled in. Yes my spell is broken! What do you mean? No one agreed to help me when I say that they must die in order for the spell to be broken. You tricked me! No, you volunteered. With that it ran off.

I lay on my back, breathing labored. Even trying to move my hand felt tiring. As I heard the ambulance sirens blaring I knew it was too late. Every pain that hammered through me weakened my defenses even more till my heart stopped pumping in renewed oxygen. With my brain’s electricity deteriorating rapidly, I closed my five senses to my surrounding and gave out. But before that, I told myself one last thing: Looks are deceiving. I would ... never...believe in cats ever again.
