Like a bird being caged, everyone wants to be free.

Breathing in the fresh air, I found that I felt thoroughly relaxed after that run in the park that evening. I stopped by a bench and sat down admiring the park's night view. It was good to know that such serene places still exist. My attention was suddenly drawn to an old man letting go a caged bird. As I watch with envy the bird opens its wings and flapped away. Suddenly interested, I stood up and walked towards the old man and asked in dialect, 'May I know why did you let go of your bird?' Looking at me he smiled and laughed gently, 'We are their friends, so why then must we make them our pets and deprive them of the freedom they deserve?' saying that, he slowly walked away. Pondering on what he said, would the bird think that way?

As I continue on my walk on the pavement in the park I paid particular attention to the bird that old man has released. It was just like other birds except for the missing right leg. As I look on carefully I noticed that it's feathers some sort of glow. As if that bird was luminous and has an aura around it. As I continued following it in the evening light, it seems to notice me. As it hopped onto different branches it gave me a look of curiosity a look that made me feel it was part of or once a human.

Suddenly it missed a step on the branches and fell down. I ran to its aid and found it lying there motionless. Is it dead yet? As I walked closer I peered down and saw its eyes wide open and tears seem to roll down it's lost -radiance face. I picked it up cautiously and brought it home to cure it before letting it go again. Before flying away, the bird gave me a nod that gave me a sense of satisfaction, when it flew away, I swear there was a trail of golden dust following in its wake. That night my dream was all so strange.

I opened my eyes and peered out of my branch. It was some time before dawn but I decided to arise early. 'Early birds get the worm.' As I spread my wings and took flight I enjoyed the feeling of flying freely the wind that rustled through my wings, the bird's eye view and so many more. Landing on the grass below, I started pecking at the ground. Soon I got my first worm of the day. Feeling satisfied of my meal I flew off in search of a resting place for the day. I do not know how long I slept but I was woken up by a sudden loud crowing of the crow. I peered through my sleepy eyes and was shocked to see a bunch of crows standing right in front of me. Once I open my eyes, they started to peck me, mobbing me as I was chased away from the tree believing that was their territory. Injured by the savage pecks I landed soundlessly on the ground. As I lay helplessly on the ground feeling the hot sun beating upon me, I tried to get up and fly away to somewhere safe, but alas I could not. All of a sudden the sun that shone upon me was shaded by big figure. I stare up and looked directly into the hunter's gun barrel. As I closed my eyes, I knew my life has ended here. Bang!

I stood up. That dream felt so real, I could even felt the pain done by the crows. But I guess dreams are dreams. I stared on my bed where it was wet and found out that I was sweating profusely. I decided to go to the bathroom and clean up myself. As I stood up, I felt strangely weak on my left arm. Walking hurriedly to the bathroom, I switched on and was shocked to find out that my arm was terribly scratched by claws of an animal. I gasped and realized. Was that actually a dream? Have I transformed into a bird? Or. Was I that bird?
